A spreadsheet has no natural page, which is the whole problem
A Word document knows where its pages end. A spreadsheet is an infinite grid, so the pages exist only when something decides where to cut it, and that decision is why so many printed spreadsheets come out as forty pages with three columns on each.
Here the workbook’s own page setup makes that decision: its paper size, orientation, margins, print area, scaling and repeated print titles. If the sheet was set up to print sensibly, the PDF prints sensibly. If it was never set up, this is the moment to notice, because the PDF will show you exactly what a printer would have done.
